Try out these easy cold-pressed juice recipes
I recently wrote a complete guide to what is cold pressed juice. Following on from this I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some of my favourite cold-pressed juice recipes.
I think there is a good range here from the refreshing and tasty to the super healthy. And if you want to make them in batches, will last between 3-5 days in the fridge.
If you don't have a cold-pressed juicer, don't worry as you can also make these recipes with a traditional centrifugal juicer.
RECIPES AT A GLANCE:
1. Apple - Cucumber - Spinach - Ginger - Lime

3. Beetroot - Carrot - Apple - Lemon
4. Watermelon - Pineapple - Grapefruit
5. Kale - Cucumber - Apple - Lemon
6. Orange - Beetroot - Carrot - Ginger
7. Orange - Pineapple - Grapefruit
8. Honeydew Melon - Pineapple - Cucumber
What you will need before you start.......
1. A cold-pressed juicer (or a traditional Centrifugal juicer)
2. A chopping board and sharp knife
A quick note about slow juicers (aka cold-pressed juicers):
As you may know, these types of juicers work slightly differently to traditional centrifugal juicers. Instead of fast spinning blades slow or masticating juicers work by slowly crushing and squeezing the fruit and veg to extract the juice.
This means they can get clogged up (significantly cheaper juicers) if you put too much product through the juicer simultaneously - this can be a problem with certain types of hard vegetables (think carrot and beetroot). I will therefore tell you the order in which to put the fruit and veg through the juicer.
I also try to use organic produce wherever possible.
1. GREEN JUICE
Apple - Cucumber - Spinach - Ginger - Lime juice
INGREDIENTS:
2 large handfuls of spinach
1/2 a cucumber
1 medium-sized apple
1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
1/2 lime squeezed into the juice jug (don't put it through the juicer as it will leave a sour taste)
Directions:
Wash and pre-chop your fruit and veg (saves time when juicing)
Put produce through the juicer in order
Put 1 ingredient into the juicer at a time and allow it to juice. Don't overload the juicer with all the ingredients as slow juicers are prone to clogging.
